The Bonneaus, husband and wife, often work collaboratively. “I believe the levity of our collaborative work demonstrates not only how well we work together but also our attitude about our work” says Peter.  Both Peter and Dorothy have a long history in the art world in various disciplines.

Sneaky Dot.jpg (62409 bytes)Dorothy Bonneau (Thomas) has trained in classic portrait and figure painting with such notable teachers as Christopher Clark of Tampa, Florida and Roman and Constantine Chatov of Atlanta, Georgia. Primarily a painter, Dorothy has also spent several years in fashion design and for the last five years, she has studied low fire clay techniques with Carol Gouthro.

A graduate of Evergreen State College in fine arts, Peter Bonneau has made a successful career in graphic arts. “My 20 plus years making airline safety briefing cards, which are highly regulated by the FAA, has given me an immensely greater appreciation for fine art, where I have much more control of both the content and the message.”

Their recent work in clay reflects their great love for animals, especially heavy horses, as well as their fascination with religious relics and ornamental architecture. “What’s most important to us is the pursuit of joy, humor and beauty. We hope to convey that sense of happiness and appreciation of life in our art work.”

The Bonneaus live in Redmond, Washington with their doberman daughters, Betty Sue and Lucy, Snitzenfitz and Cracker the cats, a neighbor’s horse or two in their back yard, and a fluff of sheep across the street.
